Feature: Levain Bakery, NYC

Cookies are a go-to favourite among kids and adults alike all over the world. There are several varieties available and they are a perfect treat for any occasion. Whether you like it crunchy, chewy, savoury, or dunked in milk–cookies are great all the same.

Levain Bakery in NYC is slaying the cookie game so hard, their cookies are not just the finest cookies in NYC, but in my opinion, some of the best desserts in the world.

Placing a strong emphasis on quality rather than variety, Levain Bakery only offers 4 types – Chocolate Chip Walnut, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. Every flavour of the cookies is delicious, but we all have that one that stands above the rest. For me, it was the Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie.

Chunky, chewy, chocolatey–these are all the things a cookie should be. And Levain Bakery’s Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie is all that and much more. It is studded with roasted walnuts and HUGE chocolate chips that just oozes out of the cookie when you bite into it. Even if math was never your forte, the higher chocolate-to-dough ratio in this delectable treat is one you can get behind.

To be honest, I am not one to line up for food because I have zero patience for long queues BUT, I can say that Levain Bakery‘s Cookies are absolutely worth lining up for. You’ll see lines snaking out of the front of the store–at all three locations actually–but don’t be intimidated by it. It is there for a reason and based on experience, it goes fast enough.

We all love a good pastry but nothing can replace the nostalgic comforts of a freshly-baked cookie and Levain Bakery offers some of the best cookies in the world that I sure don’t mind traveling 8,200 miles for.
