Everybody loves pizza so it’s no surprise there are an abundance of great pizzerias all across the city. From all meat to supreme, I’m happy to inform you that Amici is home to plenty of flavorsome pizza.
Expectations are predictably high when you’re the Executive Chef of a beloved restaurant that has withstood the test of time, but Chef Paolo Moran has done his family proud. His new pizza creations are bold, modern, and feature a lighter, thinner crust that is crispy on the edges and soft and chewy in the center.
While the crust is a work of art itself, toppings are inspired—creamy bleu cheese drizzle and honeybutter balance the spiciness of Sriracha (Honey Sriracha Chicken) and tangy pulled pork in Hickory BBQ sauce served with fresh chopped lettuce in Caesar dressing (Smoked BBQ Pork) are among the standouts.
Little introduction is needed for the Il Supremo. It’s topped with a wide variety of ingredients such as Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives, anchovies, and more.
Those who prefer something a little meatier can go for the Carne Fuego which is overloaded with spicy Italian sausage, bacon, pepperoni, ham, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
These new pizza flavours by Chef Paolo may not be here forever so I highly recommend that you try them all. But if you just want a classic Margherita? Well, that’s available too.
Chow on a number of Amici‘s new pizza offerings but leave room for dessert. Is it sacrilegious to have a dessert on this list? Maybe. But when it’s as good as the Coffee Honeycomb Cake coming from Cara Mia, I have to acquiesce.
Even non-dessert peeps can appreciate the light, airy chocolate chiffon cake drizzled with chocolate fudge sauce with coffee and topped with crunchy, bittersweet coffee honeycomb pieces.
With more than 16 years of experience and countless numbers of hungry families fed, it’s easy to understand why people love the pies at Amici. Diners know what to expect—quality crust with a large helping of cheese, sauce, toppings, and more toppings—and it’ll never let them down.
