Located near Broadway Centrum, Little Owl Cafe is a Quezon City neighborhood gem, a popular spot with locals for brunch, lunch, and dinner. You will practically trip over all the perfectly executed, endlessly crave(able) food at Little Owl Cafe: The exemplary Eggs Benedict; The gooey, cripsy Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich; The classic but always reliable Chicken N’ Waffles; and the fluffiest Banana Brûlée Pancakes.
This sunny cafe helps kick-start the day with these sweet and savoury breakfast dishes, but it’s the All-Day Brunch gussied up with impeccable ingredients that get us in the afternoon. My favorites: Thick-cut Bacon Steak with Apple Marmalade and Eggs, and the Corned Beef Brisket with Onion Gravy.
For the main event, don’t miss the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Bourbon-glazed Pork Belly, and Fish and Chips which is, in my opinion, equal parts hangover cure and deep-fried bliss. Every item on the menu is house-made and crafted in house, so the menu is ever changing.
The selection of lighter fare, although small, was top-notch and sacrificed nothing in the way of flavour. Do try the Mixed Mushroom and Roasted Vegetables and their version of Caesar Salad. Eat up, but save room for one of those delectable Tarts.
Pro tip: Get the Calamansi Tart.
And while we all have our weekend go-to’s, exploring what’s new on the brunch scene is often as exciting as going back to our faithful standbys. Whether you seek a hangover cure or simply hope to fall into a food coma, Little Owl Cafe has the answer to all of your brunch indulgences and offers new take on comfort food.
