Namoo House is a classier, more upscale Korean BBQ restaurant that focuses on quality over quantity. You get a bevy of carefully curated side dishes (ban chan), a delicious dipping sauce, and hearty soup to start. This is NOT an AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) place, but the cuts are premium, fresh, and not all fat.
The ban chan was light and good–perfect to get the taste buds working and prepared for the meat. The requisite order here calls for Kurobuta Pork Belly, Aged USDA Prime Rib-Eye, Marinated Boneless Short Rib, and Woo Samgyup. The meats were juicy, tender, very, very flavorful, and extremely fresh since it was cooked before our eyes!
In my mind, the Aged USDA Prime Rib-Eye really stood out with it’s tenderness and juiciness. The quality of the meat was super good that I felt like it was a crime to dip it in any sauces.
The Kurobuta Pork Belly was an excellent choice too! The meat was tasty, rich, and had a good outer layer of fat.
For the ultimate flavor rapture, advises the staff, grill your Kimchi with the pork belly, and eat cuts of both in a single bite.
While the Barbecue is the centerpiece food here, orders of Jumbo Beef Rib Soup, Stone Bowl Bibimbap, and Kimchi Stew can also be seen at almost every other table.
If you’re willing to pay slightly more, Namoo House will give you one of the best KBBQ experiences in Manila. Yes, it’s a bit pricier than most KBBQ Places but you can taste the difference in quality. The beautiful high-capacity space makes it the ideal group destination, so roll in with your favourite foodie friends, plus an appetite for soju.
