Featured: Qups Quarters Cafe

Qups Quarters Cafe is great spot to grab a coffee and snack, and chat with some friends. It is very low-key so if you’re looking for a place to study or work, either alone or with a group, this is a great option.
This place is truly a hidden gem. It’s tucked on the lower ground floor of Madison 101 Building, along Aurora Boulevard. If you’re not familiar with the location, do not fret–it can easily be searched on Google Maps and/or the Waze App.

It was my first time to visit Qups Quarters Cafe a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I was very impressed. The owners have put a lot of effort and thought into creating a cozy and welcoming place for its guests. There’s so much open space and spots to get comfy in while you catch up with friends, study, or work.

They also have a solid and compact (but diverse) menu that offers delights such as Pastas, Rice Meals, Smoothies, Blended Ice drinks, Brewed Coffee, and Tea. My favourites would have to be the Sunny Hungarian Rice Meal and Spicy Tuna Pasta. These are simple, straightforward, but flavorful dishes that surely hit the spot and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Aside from the rice meals and pastas, they also have quality Sandwiches and Pastries. The Cheesy Frankfurt and Corned Beef Sandwiches are your best bets. As for their drinks, I got to try their Black Forest Ice Blended Coffee, Flat White, Cafe Mocha, and Matcha Latte.

I greatly enjoyed the Cafe Mocha a lot. It had prominent dark chocolate notes and an incredibly smooth mouth-feel. The Flat White on the other hand, had great aroma and lingering aftertaste. I thought the Matcha Latte lacked the distinctive, complex flavour it should have and was my least favorite drink of the bunch.

Another thing that I really loved about Qups Quarters Cafe is that they use Sagada beans for their Coffee. They truly pride themselves on directly sourcing their beans, supporting their local community, and producing the freshest coffee possible. I appreciate this because as a consumer, it’s important for me that I choose restaurants or establishments that source produce locally.

So, to sum it all up, if you appreciate a good cup of coffee and you find yourself in New Manila, stop by Qups Quarters Cafe and enjoy a relaxing few minutes with a cup o’ Joe.
