Lydia’s Lechon, or simply, Lydia’s has always been known as one of the best Lechon purveyors in the Philippines. Honestly, I never knew Lydia’s had a full-scale sit-down restaurant on this side of town until last week.
I was invited here for lunch with a group of Foodie friends and as soon as we were seated, I knew we were in for a treat. I have to say, the restaurant’s interior is warmly set for a peaceful culinary experience.
At this event, we were offered: Pork Binagoongan, Kare-Kare, Beef Caldereta, Crab Relleno, Sisig, Pork Barbecue, Lechon Paksiw, Fresh Lumpia, and Chicharon with Laman. Everything was very tasty, interesting, comforting, and delicious. Filipino food is usually super duper heavy but Lydia’s managed to make it lighter and balanced while retaining the flavours.
Of course, one can’t simply go to Lydia’s without eating the Special Lechon. The quality of the Lechon was top-notch! The pork was soft and moist, not dry or tough at all, and the pieces were marinaded really well. I was in porcine heaven in every bite!
Seriously, I’ve never felt more carnivorous–our meal was like meat-on-meat-on-meat; But hey, I ain’t complaining! The food was authentic, reasonably priced, and cooked with quality ingredients.
Lydia’s Lechon really delivered on the Filipino front, and I was very excited to find that they also deliver to us, so I’ll definitely be a frequent customer. So, if you haven’t already, please do visit them soon.
