I’m already a big fan of tea but the Tea Appreciation Event held at the TWG Tea Salon and Boutique at the Shangri-la Mall deepened my appreciation of the different teas around the world. We had the pleasure of learning from Sam all there is to know about tea while sampling some of the high quality tea the shop has to offer. A must do, even if you are not a big fan of tea!
I found their tea selection interesting. There are some typical flavors, but they also have teas that I have not seen before. Had the Rooibos Iced Tea which was fragrant, light, and not too sweet.
I also love their Tea Time Set Menu especially the Fortune and Chic Imperial Sets. The sandwiches were more hit or miss: Loved the Cucumber with Cream Cheese Tea-infused Sandwich but felt like the Chicken with Cream Cheese sandwich was pretty bland. Without a doubt it was the Scones with Clotted Cream and TWG Jelly that stole the show and the Matcha Green Tea and Earl Grey Macarons were delicate and beautifully presented.
The range of teas means you’ll find something to suit your fancy. For the price, I feel like everything is worth it and the experience is something a little different compared to your typical outing. I left knowing I had truly learned something and gained a new appreciation instead of just attending a workshop.
If you are a wine aficionado, a lover of fine whiskies, a cheese enthusiast, or just someone who likes to appreciate things – this is a good one to add to your repertoire.
